I can't remember the last time that the very first episode of anime had this sort of impact on me. Usually they make little sense plotwise and you spend most of your time easing into the characters. This though, starts off like any light slice of life anime; then about 10 minutes in it dawns on you what's actually going on and from that point it's so bitter sweet it's unbelievably hard to watch without feeling your heart ache slightly. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it plays out, but if every episode tugs on my emotions this way, I'll be a wreck by the end...
