Among these are former LAPD SWAT member Deunan Knotts and her multipurpose cyborg partner Brialeos. They face a challenge from the Human Liberation Front and its terrorist underbelly the Argonauts. The leader of this group, Al Ceides, supposedly died 20 years ago in an attack on Poseidon, but now his shadow emerges once again.

I liked this series. I was hoping for a bit more, but all around it wasn´t bad. This series seems as it takes place after the two movies, so make sure you´ve seen them first. I thought the initial character designs looked a bit weird, when put against the 3d animation, but after a while I got used to it. The pacing of the show is great, you have both action packed fight scenes, and more slower moments, that explore characters. Just like previous installments in the franchise, it takes up those philosophical questions that surrounds cyborgs and androids etc. But they never give a clear cut answer, allowing fans to speculate among themselves. Speaking of which, it always impressed me how deep a love Deunan and Briareos share, considering he´s a cyborg. One would assume that could put a strain on the relaitonship, but on the contrary it only made them even more devoted to each other. Sure, they still argue from time to time, but not about his condition, but about differences of opinion. Also, the world appleseed takes place in always fascinated me ever since I began watching the first movie, cause it manages to be both uplifting, and bleak and depressing at the same time. It makes for a very conflicted reaction sometimes, and I applaud the creators for that.
