Summary: The story takes place in the year 1614. The deadly competition between 10 elite ninja from each clan unleashes a centuries-old hatred that threatens to destroy all hope for peace between them.

If you would put Romeo and Juliet in a ninja world, then you would end up with Basilisk.
The thing I liked about this anime is the fact that there are no good guys or bad guys.
Just 2 oposing clans that are forced to whipe eachother out.
Its pretty unpredictable, you cant really tell how the story is going to develop.

I would highly recommend this to older viewers that would like to see a good ninja story and dont mind seeing alot of violence.
