Summary: Kurosaki Ichigo is a 15 year old boy that has an ability to see ghosts/spirits. Because of his ability, he is able to meet a female death god (a.k.a Shinigami) named Kuchiki Rukia. To save his family and friends from unwanted soul-eating spirits (Hollows), Rukia transfers her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. As Rukia takes on a human shell, together they solve mysteries involving spirits and hollows until from the spirit world comes 2 other shinigamis explaining that it is illegal to transfer Shinigami powers to humans and Rukia exceeded the time limit to stay in the human world. After they sentence her death for breaking the laws, Ichigo snaps and swears to everyone he will retrieve Rukia by breaking into the spirit world.

Bleach is most definitely one of the best animes ever created. The fact that it has passed the 300 mark and still going strong is something monumental. That fact alone can sum up just how tremendous this anime is. For an anime to continue for so long proves that it must be something special. Bleach was the very first anime I watched (Excluding Pokemon, but I don't really consider that anime) and it opened up the world of anime. I can still remember when I first watched Bleach, I was on holiday and I sped through the first 150 episodes in just over a week. It had me completely hooked.

The animation is just superb, the action is exhilarating and the fights, well those are just sheer brilliant. The story and dialogue are just as good as the animation (when it's not fillers that is). I think that the Soul Society Rescue Arc could very well possibly be my favourite arc from all anime - it was that good. The only downfall are the fillers, they leave something to be desired in all honesty, and I now refuse to watch them. BUT I know that they are necessary so I won't complain. That's the reason I gave the entertainment a 4, because of the fillers. But ignore those, look past them and you will find yourself left with an anime which literally has everything one desires in an anime. An amazing, unique cast of lovable characters, a story which will catch you from the beginning and take you for a ride you won't regret and utterly superb animation. Add this with the fact that it is still going and doesn't look like stopping for awhile and what do you end up with? An anime which is the complete epitome of brilliant. Tite Kubo, take a bow.
