At first, I was avoiding Eyesheild 21, to be honest. I'm not a fan of football, and seeing as it's an anime about football (or American Football), I didn't see any reason to watch it. But after one episode, I was hooked. The animation is lacking, I've seen much better, but I have to understand that this anime is over a hundred episodes long, and they don't have enough funding to keep good animation up for that long.
Also, the whole aspect of it being over a hundred episodes long is another thing to take into consideration. I've never been a fan of long animes, and the max I've made myself watch is forty-five, and so, I don't expect myself to finish this one.
The story line is repetitive. They find difficulties, but they overcome them eventually. It's the same storyline, but I can't look away and I'm downloading episode after episode.
The characters are very likable. They are also very unrealistic, but what else can you expect from an anime like this?
I love this anime, and although I probably will not finish it due to the fact of it's length, I've enjoyed to a point what I've seen so far, and it was definitely worth a watch.
