Summary: The year is 1924, the place, Sauville, a small European country neatly tucked beside the Alps... Kazuya Kujo has been studying abroad at the prestigious Saint Marguerite Academy, where urban legends and horror stories are all the rage. Most Kazuya ignores but the story of the Queen Berry, a mysterious ghost ship, really gets to him. Of course, his brainy friend Victorique is much more intrigued by true stories, and she uses her unrivaled logic to solve mysteries even the town's famous detective can't. Ironically, it is Victorique's inquisitive nature that leads the duo to board a ship that matches the Queen Berry's description to a tee, a ship that might just hold the key to solving a sinister mystery...

BONES seems to have a knack for great storytelling! I was impress by their spy series Darker than Black and their hit Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Gosick is no exception set in the enchanting era of Old English before the World War we meet Victorique, a brilliant gothic lolita with a taste for sweet & a calculating mind comparable to Sherlock Holmes plus the pipe, and Kujo an exchange student from Japan. What's great about this series is how it blends the world of the occult with hard cold facts and modern logic. Most of the cases here is somewhat related to certain superstition or bizarre beliefs and the way these are used to cover up crimes from human trafficking to murder. Each cases is a joy to watch each with their own unique take on the occult with their own brand of logic that keeps you guessing how the deed was actually done. Victorique's cold hard logic and attitude founded by her tragic past is well balance by her partner enthusiastic and out-going behavior making them quite an exceptional pair. As they solve each case hints of Victorique's past comes to light as well as the dark secrets she holds. This is truly one of BONES great anime series packed with political controversies, plot twist, hidden motives and shadowy characters makes this series on par with Sherlock Holmes in the eyes of a young girl also called as the Gray Wolf and the Shinigami who comes in Spring!
