14 year-old Madoka Kaname has a dream in which a dark haired girl is struggling against an evil force. As Madoka wakes up and goes to school that morning, the very same girl, Homura Akemi, enrolls in her class. Even stranger, Homura seems to know Madoka and later confronts her in the hallway about whether she cares for her friends or not, saying she should stay how she is or else she risks losing everything.
I normally wouldn't watch this kinda anime, but after reading a few reviews I decided to try an episode. I was kinda sucked in by the story after that and have watched all the currently available eps (up to ep 10 as of right now).
The story isn't about lil fairy chicks and magic wands.. it actually has quite a dark side. Deals with despair, regret, and death.. The story is good, the characters are interesting, and the animation style is very unique (at least compared to all the anime I've seen).
I say give this show a chance.. even if it doesn't seem like your type of show at first glance!
