Major - disappointing

So I like baseball animes generally. I've watched + enjoyed Ookiku furikabutte, ace of diamond and a couple of others. This was the best reviewed of all them and it started out pretty well. However, this quickly became really boring. The story wasn't interesting and the characters were especially bad. The main character is really arrogant and too good at everything. While this could b ok he doesn't have any likeable points to balance him out. I found the other characters boring and lacking in depth. I felt they were very poorly developed. The strengths I find in sports animes, generally, is in the tense situations they create in games and the characters. I found both in this show lacking. All in all, considering how well reviewed it was, I was disappointed. If you're interested in baseball animes I advise you try one of the ones I already mentioned or Cross Game or One Outs. They're all much better and much more enjoyable.
