Commenting on the previous review, I agree on the part that this is a well made anime and that the story gets really deep at the end, however there is one thing that really bothered me in this anime. It's logic. The characters spend half the episodes fighting this "angel" and then suddenly starts asking themselves "why the fuck are we fighting her?"and then the other guy's like, '"I don't know. Maybe we're just retarded spartans?" then they become friends with her???? (Wtf?). If you get really sentimental, then good for you, but i rarely get emtionally involved, and if you see from my perspective the characters are pretty retarded sometimes. And honestly you cant call this romance. (Nothing happens wtf?) You look forward to some development for like 20 episodes and then at the end he hugs her. That's it. I wished Angel Beats! had more episodes. Not because I thought it was so good (I'm not saying it isn't) but because the story had so much more potential. In my opinion most mysteries were left unsolved and the ending didn't really make that much sense. That's about all the bad things I can say about the plot. The setting was interesting and the characters that got a background got a good one.

The cast has some great characters and the conversations between them can be really funny from time to time.

The animation's good but I got the impression they were a bit lazy sometimes.

I looked forward to each episode of Angel Beats! though it wasn't a series I could keep watching for a long time. I liked the start of the opening as well. (show less)

This was a fairly different anime compared to most others out there right now. The story is top notch and like nothing I've ever seen before, and incredibly touching, especially the ending.

The dialogue was really good for most of the anime, but there are a few cringe-worthy spots, and a few characters who just make you want to gouge your own ears out, but it didn't ruin the experience as a whole.

The animation was very good for 90% of the anime, but there are a few hiccups that keep it from being truly excellent.

Overall, I definitely recommend this anime to anyone who likes some good action, a love story, and good plot twists. (show less)
