This movie is a classic tale of Batman told through the styles of Japanese anime. This film is a nice stray away from the classical American cartoons that portray the character of Batman and the fact that it is produced in a Japanese animation styles makes it a nice change to see how Japanese anime artists depict The Dark Knight. Throughout the entire movie there are an uncountable amount of action sequences that really bring out the characteristics of classic Batman tales, as well as the amount of action sequences, it can also be said that the action never really dies down in that one action scene meshes beautifully into a more calm cinematographic scene which then in turn becomes another extreme action scene.
Concerning the dialogue depicted in the film it can be said that it is intriguing with not much being said about any specific topic, but let’s the viewer decide for himself what might be happening. Also, conversations between characters never becomes monotonous and is always changing in tone and style.
The visual styles used in the film are absolutely superb. The Japanese take on how classic Batman characters look is a welcome change and all the different styles of anime art bring a nice feel to the film in that the film never feels too set on one style of animation. Another great take on the Batman franchise is the different iterations of the Batman character, it allows the viewer to imagine different times and situations that these new versions of Batman could be appropriate.
To a person not familiar with the Batman universe this anime can be quite confusing as the film is not a set plot, but involves a number of different plots depending on the visual style. Another downside to the film is the “flashbacks”, some plots are pure story where others are seemingly portrayed as memories, another factor that could confuse people who have not read the original comics or watched the American cartoons and films.
At the end of the day, this is most definitely a film to be watched by those who are devout Batman fans as they can experience a “new” Batman, as well as by fans of Japanese anime as the film blends the various types of animation beautifully. ( show less)

First of all Batman rocks and we like to see him bleed as it's his vulnerability that makes him much more interesting in comparison to superman and in this Japanese anime we get to watch him bleed profusely from stab wounds and gunshots as much as you'd expect from a man with no super powers. An anime rendition of Batman is a nice treat, but the last thing we want to see is Bruce Wayne looking like the typical anime hunk with long, streaming hair and glassy eyes. The animation in this segment is the most elegant and impressive. The story focuses on Batman's pursuit of the assassin Deadshot, who uses a high-tech, laser-guided sniper rifle to pick off his victims. It's an exciting game of cat and mouse that's worthy of concluding the anthology. ( show less)

This anime tells a story in between the two movies: Batman Begins and Dark Knight. I would say it's a good addition to a side story where you find Bruce Wayne living his life being the Dark Knight. He went through pain and suffering. Travelling and Looking for an answer. Experimenting and Discovering. All these experienced embraces you to the world of Batman, to the world of Bruce Wayne.

From my technical aspect and points of view, the voice Acting is Very Good, this is Hollywood, you can't go wrong with the dialogue and this is a highly productive animation. When it comes to Animations, I would say is a top notch, for my part. I mean 5 well-known anime studios, with different perspectives and visions to bring the character to life. You can see the details of the background like buildings and landscapes. Some people may not agree, what the other studio did to the animated Batman. Some may say Batman looks ridiculous but I disagree, I'm artist, I see things that normal people don't. I see, visual extravagance, I see the animation is very fluid. And I'm applaud to the studio's and the producers that made batman, animatrix and dante's inferno for putting them together to made those great animations as possible.
Dark Knight is a good short animated movie and entertains you in different way. I like the part where he trains. He suffers. Where he live through pain. It makes us human. At the end of the day, he's the crusader of the knight. A Dark Knight.
This is a good collection or addition to the movie: Batman Begins and Dark Knight. If your an anime fan and Batman fan alike: definitely to grab this one. ( show less)

this was a downer for me. its the second time ive seen it. and i cant say i liked it any better the second time i saw it. the story is all a jumble and a mess, the anime dont follow a specific time line or story. henceforth the mess of it all. its like the produces just shuffled 5 batman comics and went strait to the animation. take note though.. 5 batman comics from different batman titles.
due to cramming 5 different batman stories to a little more then 1 hour the dialogue sucks. i where still amazed the second time i saw it. how horrible ( read more)

due to cramming 5 different batman stories to a little more then 1 hour the dialogue sucks. i where still amazed the second time i saw it. how horrible the dialogue where. most of the movie is about batman either fighting or hunting his prey.
the animation here was the only upside for me. there is some nice scenes where the details are well made. but the characters change shape to much. there seems like there are atlest 4 different people making batman. and all have different views on how he should look like. and i must say.. that's horrible. it should be a crime for less
as for the entertainment level of this anime.... i wold say its poor. border to very poor. since i couldn't enjoy the anime, due to all the annoyance i felt while watching it..
i wold not recommend this to any one who loves the dc world, or who have spent some time reading or watching batman
