Man, what an amazing anime this turned out to be! As far as romance, slice of life anime go, this is one of the best.

The story, like the synopsis says, is split into two stories revolving around 5 or so people. One involving a love triangle and the other dealing with a girl with a 13-hour memory. Both stories were very well written and how they unfolded was very intense and emotional. I was really satisfied with both endings and the overall outcome of the show.

The animation was very interesting in Ef. The characters themselves looked okay, nothing too interesting in that, just your basic stuff. However the backgrounds and the little animation sequences Shaft used were simply amazing. The backdrops were just beautiful, especially when the are at the beach on sunset, it's just a sight to behold. As for the animation sequences, I thought they were really cool and added a lot to the viewing experience. For example Miyako is calls Hiro on her cellphone ,because he is late for their date, and he never answers. Miyako then starts leaving a bunch of messages on Hiro's cellphone and every message she sends is written in japanese on the screen, eventually the whole screen gets flooded with text.

The only problems that I saw in this show is sometimes the characters' reactions can be a little exaggerated, same with the dialogue. Those two things hardly hinder the entertainment I had watching this series and recommend this romance masterpiece to lovers of the genre ! (show less)

This is one of those anime's where you just have to watch!!
The story, characters, animation just everything is beautiful to watch.

I love how each of the characters has there own personal story to tell, but it doesnt overshadow the anime, they all fit in perfectly. Each of the stories has a touching emotional part to it and you really connect with the characters.

The way they have incorportated the art into this anime, is amazing. In the beginning i found it quite annoying the way some of things appeared and were animated but once the story went on, it didnt bother me and actually worked. Although 1 bit annoyed me most was when the clock was ticking down as her phone card was running out, that was slightly annoying but only downside of it.

I thoroughly enjoyed each of the characters, i couldnt dislike any of them, at times Miyako did get a little annoying with how she acted and her personality itself but was bearable.

So in all this anime was deffintely 1 i will remember and go back to in the future. I cant wait to now see A Tale of Melodies. because if this is something to go by, then it surely should be just as amazing.

Firstly i must say this anime is simply breathtaking. The story is quite original, the animation is superb and the dialogue is beatifully writen therefore the entertainment value is also up there.
I won't go into any actual details about the anime but i will say that suprisingly it has become one of my favorites ( me being a shoune/seinen/ecchi fan), it's THAT good.
The most apealing element of this anime is the range of emotion, throughout 12 episodes it makes you feel love, hatred, jelousy, angst, joy, happiness etc.
I think this is a must see for any anime lover out there, be it a naruto fan or a clannad fan. Enjoy! (show less)
