Summary: In the not too distant future androids have come into common usage. Taking the androids for granted, humans treat them as if they were common everyday tools, while on the other hand, some people empathize with androids due to their human-like appearance (save for a digital ring floating above their heads). This has become a social problem and these people are frowned upon as a result. Rikuo, one who has taken androids for granted for his entire life, one day discovers that Sammy, his home android, has been acting strangely and finds a strange phrase recorded in her activity log. He, along with his friend Masaki, traces Sammy's footsteps and come upon an unusual cafe. This cafe's main rule is to not discriminate between humans and androids.

I can’t help but love this series.

On the surface, “Eve no Jikan”, or “Time of Eve”, is a series playing on the popular trope “soul in the shell” – i.e. robot/android/AI (Artificial Intelligence) with a soul, own thought processes, emotions, all that stuff. And though I personally am not particularly fond of androids, “Eve no Jikan” definitely counts among my favourites.

Long review’s long, as might have been obvious.

I mentioned the concept; and it is not utterly new. The robot/human distinction has been played upon (read more)

This series is very well written. It's thought provoking, and kind of sad, but very entertaining. My only complaint is that it's kind of short (I went through all of the episodes in one sitting).
It's not your typical man vs machine kind of story.

this isn't your typical love-love between androids and humans like chobits...the focus is on the relationships of the people involved and the reason for these relationships...it sends a good story but the independence of episodes from one another is bothersome...it would have been very nice if the episodes are connected not as if each day is an independent one...and if it was longer...you see...the anime has not yet gotten to the real part of the story...it is just starting to introduce the personas...and the problem...!

Basically, if you don't (read more)

I was not able to read the synopsis of this anime, but I was immediately warped inside the story as it began to unfold I was intrigued by the characters' developments, emotions, and also their appearances. Am not really into robots, androids or AIs but this anime made me think...how people often played "God" yet would not think as Godly as possible, not considering the consequences that will affect others (people or bio-bot).

I loved how the lead character Rikou realized what was really happening in front of him. And how the androids at EVE (read more)

Basically is just another story about "soul-in-the-shell", but nevertheless, it's a very touching and interesting point of view. It is the type of anime, where u just sit at the end and wish for more episodes.
Greatly recommended for everyone, worth watching.

I would recommend this anime to anyone that's looking for a nice simple anime to watch. It's got a really nice storyline to it and you can't help but like most, if not all, the characters in it which makes you want to know how it ends. I just wish it was more than 6 episodes long =(

Overall I'd definitely give this anime a 5/5! So what are ya waiting for?? Start watching! You won't be dissappointed! =D

A really good anime that does at times get a little but also has alot of interesting plot twists and a nicely developing storyline. Each episode shows insight into the patrons of Cafe Eve. It also shows a taste of what might be around the corner in man's future, androids, and a new for of bigotry toward synthetic lifeforms. All in all a good watch. It's a pity more episodes aren't available to view.
