Lucky Star is pretty much the most excessive 'slice of life' series I've yet encountered. None of the episodes tie in to one another, and topics change every five minutes. This series is essentially completely random, although that's not necessarily a bad thing. The comedy and overall lightness of the show make it very entertaining to go through, and some of the episodes just seem to fly by. Lucky Star has a good blend of characters, and a not-too-bad depiction of what ordinary high school life is (okay, maybe not quite.) The soundtrack of the series blends well with the comedy, and usually adds to the entertainment factor. In terms of animation it manages to stay pretty good overall, with only the occasional issue. Definitely a series to go through if you have the time and inclination. (show less)

This Anime was terrible in my opinion, but a few of my friends enjoyed it the others did not, i'll put it to you this way if you enjoy the first episode, chances are you will enjoy the rest of the episodes, for me however the first episode was increadibly boring, and stupid, they spend the whole first episode talking about how you are suppose to eat this desert, and the humour is very childish, im sure any children aged about 5 to 15 would love this, i forced myself to watch another 2 episodes in the hope that maybe, i would be pleasently surprised and i was not, so my advise for you would be to watch the first episode, and if it grabs you then you know you are going to be a fan, if however you did not enjoy the first episode do not even bother with the rest. Anime within an anime?! (gasp!) That being said, here's the review.

Anyone who watches anime should really give this one a shot. I didn't give this show a chance at first. After seeing the opening, I figured this was just another "crazy high school" show. A few episodes later and suddenly my wall is covered in Konata posters 0_o. I can almost guarantee you, you'll relate to at least one character on this show. Honestly, this show is great representation of the average anime fan's life.

Story-10/10 Because its something almost anyone could relate to
Dialogue-9/10 Your standard anime based comedy and everyday conversations
Animation-9/10 Nothing complex, yet good enough to keep me watching

I recently watched this show for the second time after a few years and I must say, it's still just as funny.

The only 'poor' rating I gave was concerning the story. What can I say, Lucky Star doesn't HAVE a story but I won't condemn it for it. That's one of the aspects that make it so great.

The conversations are what really characterise this series. All you hear are every day conversations between some high school girls and the weird thing is, it's hilarious. I even found myself having some of those discussions with my friends. It was fun to tell them the facts I learned by watching this. X)

The animation fits the content perfectly. You shouldn't watch this expecting idealised high school girls. If anything they look younger.

The intro and outro are very typical aswell. The intro is a bit catchy. The outro is simple but also made me laugh some times, it's too bad I didn't know most of the songs they sang. The end of this series actually gave me goose bumps. (show less)

This is truely a phenomenal anime that takes a very simple premise and makes the sweetest and hilarious series out of it.

The episodes move fast with often more than 10 mini-plots per episode, each showing off the characters to their upmost. All the characters are well balanced and lovable and even though they are used to parody pretty well everything in anime and manga they always manage to stay away from being purely stereotypical.

However, i must say that even though anime newbies will still enjoy this, the show is so packed with references from the obvious to the extremely obscure that to be able to get the most from this show, a serious knowledge of anime would enhance your enjoyment of this immesurably.

Oh and one little tip, make sure you watch to the absolute end of each episode. The outro "lucky channel" segment and the closing credits are sometimes even more funny than the actual episodes themselves (and thats saying something) so make sure you dont miss out!!

To sum up, this is my favourite all time anime and i strongly urge anyone who loves anime to watch this, you won't be disappointed! (show less)
