Ok so I started Senran Kagura for the mindless entertainment, but what I got was something more. Not a lot more mind you, but the story itself really isn't half bad!
Yes, as one astute reviewer noted it has lots of, ahem... well, you know but aside from that it actually managed to stick to a plot and throw in a clever twist.
Technically, the animation is excellent. All the, er, appropriate places are nice and shiny and the animation itself is very fluid. The action sequences are particularly entertaining with some great fight scenes! Dialog is about on par with a short, fanservice-laden series but hey Senran Kagura doesn't try to take itself too seriously which really works here.
I'm not saying this is a keeper or 'must have' for my anime collection but it was an enjoyable series on multiple levels thanks to a fairly decent plot! And the destructible 'environment' wasn't bad either. ;)
