This anime, for me, was one of the few animes today that I could watch fully with no interruptions and no frantically searching for something to distract myself with. The storyline and the dialogue that- for once- could pass for genuine, kept me completely immersed and entertained as some other animes just can't. It's fast-paced and the animation is fantastic, and the storyline doesn't seem to immediately be one where you just think "Aw, I've seen this before!" And finally, it's incredibly sadistic. No, this is not a genuine yaoi, but there are heavy hints towards it. Blood is thrown everywhere, and hot, bishonen guys are injured on a regular basis. If you're minorly sadistic, this is the anime for you- seriously. It's just the right amount of torture and recovery, and even with all this, the emotion in the characters remains there the whole way through- something I haven't seen in a while.... Well anyway, that was my review. But what I really meant to say was:

After watching the first 6 episodes of this series, I just had to write something about it. I started watching the series looking for a new 'gore factor' anime but what I found was an over-powered homosexual drive to what is, at best, a weak told story. Normally after the first 2-3 episodes, something emerges, something that pulls you further into the story and makes you want to know more but all ive found is a medicore mystery of the guy with the long katana who has an ever lasting lust for blood (which is shown to you without any animation of him swinging his sword...well there was one instance but I dont think it would count...).

The main character nickname is 'Lost' and I think that pretty much describes this anime to me. I keep watching and waiting for something to happen but it doesnt. I give this a 2 out of 5. (show less)

I had read a couple of reviews on another site, and noticed that it was produced by Aniplex who also produced Durarara! and D. Grayman, both excellent animes. After the first couple of episodes I was intrigued by the storyline and was drawn in, but only to be dragged along for multiple more episodes of nothing.

The most perturbing factor in this anime was the recurring homosexual theme, including the main 'villian' having a S & M or Bondage fetish. The first and only female character shows up in the second episodes and doesn't show up again till the 9th.

If you are into an murky mystery, with uncomfortable homosexual moments, this is the anime for you! (show less)
