I first watched this series when sorting through anime shows that were labelled as "psychological," and indeed this series does have some thought provoking moments. The story takes place over the course of more than one generation, and it details the plight of a group of people as they struggle for their place in the cosmos. I recommend the show to anyone who likes space themed shows and also action/dramas.

The show is vrey good for a space opera , great as anime , brilliant as a remake after the original from 1980...and much longer (24 episodes of 20 min beats 1 movie of 113min , in longevity , what can i say :D )

Today was the third time I've watched this anime fully since it aired in 2007.
As to pay a contribution to it in some way, I'm writing this review..
"Toward the Terra" deserved more credit than what it has given.
The animation is beautiful, the story is gripping, it really pushes you to feel with the characters and live with them their dreams..plus impressive OSTs that adds to the scenes.
From my point of view, there are some hints of shounen ai.
The drama is so strong that I caught myself in tears now and then.
Watch it and you will never (read more)
