Title(s): Trigun
トライガン
(Toraigan)
Creator: Yasuhiro Nightow
Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Science Fiction, Supernatural
Age Group: Older Children (May contain mild bad language, bloodless violence)
Vintage: April 4, 1998
Status: Completed
Summary: Known for its Space Western theme, Trigun is about a man named "Vash the Stampede" and the two Bernardelli Insurance Society employees who follow him around in order to minimize the damages inevitably caused by his appearance. Most of the damage attributed to Vash is actually caused by bounty hunters in pursuit of the "60,000,000,000$$" (sixty billion "double dollars") bounty on Vash's head for the destruction of the city of July. However, he cannot remember the incident clearly due to his amnesia. Throughout his travels, Vash tries to save lives using non-lethal force. He is occasionally joined by a priest, Nicholas D. Wolfwood, who, like Vash, is a superb gunfighter with a mysterious past.

As the series progresses, more is gradually learned about Vash's mysterious history and the history of human civilization on the planet Gunsmoke. The series often employs comic relief and is mostly light-hearted in tone, although the tone shifts toward darker and more dramatic situations as it draws to a conclusion. It also involves moral conflict pertaining to the morality of killing other living things, even when arguably justified (i.e. self-defense/defending others).

Although the animation, the art style and parts of the story and dialogue are average at best, the world of Trigun is an interesting twist on the usual apocalyptic scenarios.

The overall morale of the story is outstanding and a good representation that certain values transcend borders of culture and religion.
Aside from that the characters are very likeable and the mood never gets too dark, so it stays lighthearted for the majority of the story.

Still dont expect an outrageous good anime.

I thought this was a good show and expected more from the public in terms of popularity. It is very interesting and kept he hooked till the end. The "big fight" to end it all could've used some work though. They could have made it a little better and more of a struggle I guess. I mean it was his brother after all. But in all I liked this shoe and you action anime lovers will enjoy it. And there's even a little hint of romance to op it of. And I mean A LITTLE BIT.

I first heard of this from my friend from school. It is his favorite anime and he recommended it to me. I finally got to watching it and was happy with the result. I enjoyed how the story eased in from being kinda silly wit hsmall incidents, to more serious with complicated situations. The characters were also very enjoyable, especially Wolfwood, which is one of my personal favorites. (i do like Vash, although he did cry a bit too much near the end) The fights were good, although a bit more sparse than i had hoped, but not a problem. The atmophere (read more)
