Yumekui Merry is about a dream-demon called Merry Nightmare, who lost her memory after being forced into the real world by hercules, probably the strongest dream demon in existance, as a cause of her fighting back while he was taking other dream demons to the real world. The only thing she seems to remember is wanting to go back to the dream world. It´s also about a boy( Yumeji Fujiwara) who has been able to see what people are going to dream about by encircling his eyes with his thumb and index-finger. When Merry falls atop Yumeji and he promises to send her back to the dream world, strange things start to happen. It´s not one of the best anime´s i have seen, but it contains one of my favourite favourite villains of all times and my namesake: Misteltainn( has been noted to be spelled differently by most people and can therefore cause a bit of a confusion) but i think its worthy of being watched, even if though misteltainn is the only reason you actually watch it for. Mainly this anime is beautifully made with good details on the backgrounds and the surroundings. the story is interesting and has lots of ways it could go and many things they could go up with bad or good. so far that i watched ( episode 4) it still looks good even if we are still discovering how the mechanics of this world actually function.

this anime turns around the boundaries of the real world and the dream world and weird things that happens between it. the main character (Merry) is somewhat interesting and no one is annoying or yelling for no reason so far. there is no fan service witch is good like that you focus more on the story and don't get distracted ( depending on the age ) the main male character is a little cliche but hey its kinda hard to do something original those days and its not like if it was a bad thing. each episode tells you a bit more about the dreamworld and Merry ( main female character) learns about herself as well since she lost her memory ( partially)

the anime may not suit all tastes but check out the 2 first episode and i believe you should have a good idea if your gonna like the rest of it (show less)

This anime took my by surprise. I started watching the first ep with little expectation, and wow...
The animation is excellent. The backgrounds are very high quality, and well drawn. The combat scenes have a lot of detail and movement. I love it.

The story is very fun. Mixing the Dream World and Reality. It allows us to see MANY types of landscapes and a lot of unique scenery.

And last but not least, I love the characters. Especially the main female character, Merry Nightmare. She is very interesting.

This anime has loads of potential. It's worth a try. (show less)
