This season is far stronger in the terms of development but its so worth it.
The Story is stronger losing a bit of comedy from the first season-though it does have a lot of that- however compensates with a awesome story and a more flushed out cast... the ending of the season is spectacular.
The Animation is again tight and flowing giving a charming and beautiful quality, While the dialogue is handled by the professionals of the first season with a few additions which are all marvelous as well.
The Entertainment is riveting as you finished ( read more)

The Entertainment is riveting as you finished this season in record timing and watched the last episode twice just because its that awesome.
A must see for those loving the Comedy of the first awesome season.. and if you haven't seen the first season go see it- its awesome. ( show less)

The continuation of Zero no Tsukaima which has exceeded my expectations of the anime series.
The characters are just as highly animated as they were in the first season with a few new characters thrown into the fray as well. The handsome new rival for Saitou to contend with for Louise's love after Ward's death was a brilliant highlight as he was a constant weapon of insult used against Saitou in times of arguments between himself and Louise. Also an unexpected character reappeared in the series however sorrowfully he didn't stay long in the series. ( read more)
The continuation of Zero no Tsukaima which has exceeded my expectations of the anime series.
There are also surprising character developments within the series not to mention a sexy side of Henrietta is revealed which was very unexpected.
This anime took on a darker aura compared to the last season as the war between Albion and Tristian becomes more serious. However its not a huge change as this anime keeps its original slapstick, harem styled comedy throughout the entire series overshadowing most of the serious scenes.
The soundtrack is the same as the first season besides the new opening and ending credit songs its all the same. The use of soundtrack added to the comedy. In romantic moments between Saitou and Louise the music is romantic until Saitou's womanising ruins it with the music fading out in a ruined mood affect.
The story is nothing otherly fantastic. But the romance between Louise and Saitou becomes more frequent in this season than in the last season. The last episode was definitely a touch and go there (I won't say what though cause that would spoil it) however the ending was very cute with the classical reuniting hug twirling thing.
For those who've watched the first season the second season definitely outdoes itself in terms of action, magic and romance. For those who haven't watched the first season I suggest you watch it first to get an idea of what happened. The romance is more frequent than the last season however that doesn't mean that Saitou's pervertedness changes or that the slapstick comedy with decrease. After this season there's just two more. I loved the first season of Zero no Tsukaima and this season lived up to and may have even exceeded my expectations slightly. The mixture of comedy, action, drama, and romance was well blended and the ecchi scenes were tastefully done...meaning their was fan service without be raunchy and bordering on hentai. The first season made my eyes water at times and this season actually had me crying at the end. I highly recommend Zero no Tsukaima seasons 1 & 2. I look forward to watching and reviewing season 3.

Ugh. "Evil is good" trope making its way into yet another anime. Oh, a nun saying that as long as the demon and the others...
