The continuation of Zero no Tsukaima which has exceeded my expectations of the anime series.
The characters are just as highly animated as they were in the first season with a few new characters thrown into the fray as well. The handsome new rival for Saitou to contend with for Louise's love after Ward's death was a brilliant highlight as he was a constant weapon of insult used against Saitou in times of arguments between himself and Louise. Also an unexpected character reappeared in the series however sorrowfully he didn't stay long in the series. There are also surprising character developments within the series not to mention a sexy side of Henrietta is revealed which was very unexpected.
This anime took on a darker aura compared to the last season as the war between Albion and Tristian becomes more serious. However its not a huge change as this anime keeps its original slapstick, harem styled comedy throughout the entire series overshadowing most of the serious scenes.
The soundtrack is the same as the first season besides the new opening and ending credit songs its all the same. The use of soundtrack added to the comedy. In romantic moments between Saitou and Louise the music is romantic until Saitou's womanising ruins it with the music fading out in a ruined mood affect.
The story is nothing otherly fantastic. But the romance between Louise and Saitou becomes more frequent in this season than in the last season. The last episode was definitely a touch and go there (I won't say what though cause that would spoil it) however the ending was very cute with the classical reuniting hug twirling thing.

For those who've watched the first season the second season definitely outdoes itself in terms of action, magic and romance. For those who haven't watched the first season I suggest you watch it first to get an idea of what happened. The romance is more frequent than the last season however that doesn't mean that Saitou's pervertedness changes or that the slapstick comedy with decrease. After this season there's just two more.
