| Summary: |
Mato Kuroi just got into junior high school, and on the first day, someone catches her eye; her classmate Yomi Takanashi. The two meet.
The innocent and naive Mato. The mature Yomi. Seemingly opposites, but the time they spend together only strengthens a growing friendship.
But as they go into their second year at the school, they get placed in separate classes, and they begin to grow apart.
But somewhere simultaneously...
In another world, a young girl, blue fire residing in her eyes, Black Rock Shooter faces another young girl; this one holding a jet-black scythe, Dead Master, and a battle to the death begins to unfold. |

This One ova Pretty Much Sums up the Entire 8 episode Season of BRS, Most likely watch the OVA as (even though its kinda confusing) its ties you to the story of these 2 friends and makes realize how feeling will come to colosion if they were materialized, plus the animation is cute and beautiful, and HEY ANIME CHICKS WITH GUNS WHAT ELSE COULD YOU WANT?

The pacing of this story perfectly balances tension to keep you watching. The story is beautiful as it is, but it's be great if they expanded on this.

+ good, although short fighting scenes
+ amazing animation and art style
cons
- had little to do with the actual black rock shooter
- cannot be viewed without having read the manga
- incomplete, thus can be confusing
conclusion: recommended for those who've had exposure to the series before. without that, however, this ova will probably be unexplainable and uneventful as it's incomplete. how can you fit one story into 50 minutes? it's impossible; and there doesn't seem to be a ( read more)

conclusion: recommended for those who've had exposure to the series before. without that, however, this ova will probably be unexplainable and uneventful as it's incomplete. how can you fit one story into 50 minutes? it's impossible; and there doesn't seem to be a second episode coming. this ova mainly introduces mato, gives her a believable background, and follows her in daily situations with her close friends. emotions and the friendship theme are well-established, and the art and animation are simply stunning, but it's merely loosely based on the actual black rock shooter, and the preview promised something very different from this. can be very enjoyable if you know and like the franchise behind it (three mangas, an 8-ep anime, and at least two games by now.... and i really don't remember which was first), but this ova pretty much cannot stand alone.

From the point of view of someone who has no exposure to Black Rock Shooter except for this OVA there is essentially no store here. Its uneventful following daily interactions between the main character and her close friends. Avoid this OVA if you have not yet seen the series or read the manga

Hey there, this OVA is epic, confusing but epic. The fighting was amazing. u.u Was really the only thing I enjoyed but the other bits were good too! O: NOW for some reason people are not rapidly uploading the ANIME! Yes, Black Rock Shooter's first episode was released today! :D I'd upload it myself, but seeing as my laptop is a retard I can't do shit all. -.- So could someone please upload the anime! Wow, what a great anime. Im still trying to wrap myself around it but I can honestly say that it was thoroughly entertaining. Im looking forward to more of this, I really want to see what the other world is. Is that just an analogy of Mato struggle to get her friend back and Yomi's depression or is it something more. Definetley worth my first posting since joining over a year ago.

very entertaining premise so far. good main characters. dialogue is a little slow hopefully that changes. animation style is great along the lines of Bleach mixed in with serial experiment lane. strong 4/5 from me.

It was a good start but it just wasn't enough to start off an anime. I found it really hard to follow what was going on in places but I found it to have a very good plot and thought it has alot of ways this story can go. I wouldn't recommend this until more episodes come out because it is complex to the extreme and I still have a lot of questions but I still loved this anime!

Friendship is a curious thing, isn't it? Everyone wants to have at least one good friend, however... wait, wait, wait! Is this even about Black★Rock Shooter? Actually... yes. Pretty much. Totally. Because this whole OVA is about friendship; not that you could guess after watching the trailer...)
